This focused preparation course covers everything you need to pass the ACCA Financial Reporting (FR) examination. The FR paper tests your ability to prepare and present financial statements for single entities and groups in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
The course begins with the conceptual and regulatory framework, covering the IASB Conceptual Framework, IAS 8 Accounting Policies, and IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements. You will then work through key IFRS standards including IAS 2 Inventories, IAS 16 Property Plant and Equipment, IAS 38 Intangible Assets, IFRS 15 Revenue, IFRS 16 Leases, IAS 37 Provisions, and IAS 36 Impairment.
Group accounting is a major component of the FR syllabus. You will learn how to prepare consolidated statements of financial position and comprehensive income, accounting for subsidiaries, associates, and joint ventures, dealing with goodwill, non-controlling interests, and intra-group transactions.
The course also covers the analysis and interpretation of financial statements using ratio analysis and other analytical techniques. Each topic includes worked examples, practice questions, and past exam question analysis. Exam technique sessions teach you how to manage your time, structure your answers, and maximize your marks in both the constructed response and objective test question formats.
